Notes:
(1) There is a monument to General Richardson in the Sunken Road on the Antietam battlefield
(2) Brigadier General Hancock was transferred from command of the 2nd Division, 6th Corps
(3) Colonel Barlow’s 61st New York was temporarily consolidated with the 64th New York during the battle.
(4) Colonel Burke was charged with abandoning his regiment during the fight for the Sunken Road. After a court matial he was dismissed from the service.
