This marker is one of the roughly two dozen that have disappeared over the years, but records provide its location and text. The marker was on the north side of Boonsboro Pike, northeast of the Middle Bridge.

Morell’s Division encamped in the fields about 300 yards to the southwest of this point at about noon on September 16.
At 8 A.M. of the 17th it relieved Richardson’s Division of the Second Corps, on the right of the Boonsboro Pike, and formed in support of the Artillery on the ridge in front of the Antietam.
